My first calendar is now complete! It’s been quite a big challenge to finally get this calendar complete and into print.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was to choose just 12 images from all the photos I have from in and around Ulverston, taking the photos was the easy part!

NB: If you would like your calendar delivering to an LA12 postcode area, just enter “LA12” in the coupon code area at checkout as I deliver these for free 🙂

Ulverston is a small market town with a population of around 11,600. It was just voted the 3rd best market town to live in England in 2018 🙂

Historically Ulverston was in Lancashire, the town is in the Furness area 8 miles north-east of Barrow-in-Furness. It is close to the Lake District, and just north of Morecambe Bay, neighboured by Swarthmoor, Pennington and Rosside.

Ulverston’s most visible landmark is Hoad Monument,  built in 1850 to commemorate statesman and local resident Sir John Barrow, and appears in several photos in the Ulverston 2019 Calander.

January – Snow showers moving in
Always a stunning sight as another snow shower moves in from across the bay. As a lover of snow and winter, it’s always great to see more snow moving in, even when there’s already some on the ground.

February – Sunrise at Canal Head
The timing for this shot was crucial to see the sun rising when looking directly down the canal, and then a swan swam past.. perfect timing 🙂

March – Spring morning at Ford Park
A stunning start to the spring day with clear sky’s and the low sun just sweeping across the park.

April – Spring sunrise at Canal Foot
Take a seat and watch the sunrise over the hills and viaduct from Canal Foot.

May – Smiling in the rain
We may have showers, but there’s always a smile to be found on the faces of the Laurel & Hardy statues ?-)

June – Summer Solstice Sunrise at Birkrigg stone circle
Sunrise at 5 am on the Summer Solstice at Ulverston’s very own Stone Circle on Birkrigg.

July: Carnival time.
Another one of Ulverston’s great festivals where locals get together and parade through the streets.

August – Summer Showers over Ulverston
The view fromBirkrigg as Summer Showers and a Rainbow fill the skies above Ulverston.

September – Late summer storm at Bardsea
Late summer storms can be a dramatic time. This lightning storm was captured over Morecambe Bay from Bardsea Beach.

October – Autumn Morning on The Cumbria Way
This shot was taken looking down towards Ulverston from along the Cumbria Way.

November – Mist rolling in
Watching the early morning mist rolling into Ulverston from Morecambe Bay is a personal favorite.

December – Snow all the way up to The Lake District
A snowy Ulverston. Taken from the roadside passing from Urswick to Bardsea and looking out over Ulverston with the Lake District mountains in the distance.
